Medical Information

Children may, during their time at school, require care and support as a result of a medical condition.

The prime responsibility for a child's health lies with the parent, who is responsible for supplying the school with all the relevant information and medication needed to ensure proficient care can be given to a child.  The school takes advice and guidance from a range of sources, including the School Nurse, Health professionals including the child's GP along with parents.  This enables us to ensure we assess and manage risk and minimise disruption to children's learning.

Our aim is

  • to support pupils with medical conditions so that they have full access to education including physical education and educational visits.
  • to respond sensitively, discreetly and quickly to situations where a child with a medical condition requires support
  • to ensure relevant staff are fully informed and adequately trained to administer support in line with that outlined in the Individual Care Plan.

Parents should use the forms below to notify us of a medical condition and to request that medication be administered to their child.
